Well it's 5/9/16 I finally got to use my new port for my infusions. It was great not being stuck a lot of times but one stick with a giant needle made up for it. I felt like I was stabbed in the chest. The nurse said next put oragel on the area and then saran wrap over it to deaden it.

Heather Wilson was my surgical nurse. She a good friend from Life church. Dr Miller came in and explained thing then off to surgery. It took a little more then an hour all together. Came home and slept most of the day. Off to work tomorrow.

Yesterday 4\5\16 was a day of tests.
Had to be at the hospital by 6:00am to start. They started with a chest X-ray and then a blood test. They only stuck me one time thank goodness. Just got sat down from that and they called me for my MRI check up. Well it took ten sticks to get the contrast in. I felt like a pin cushion. It took 3 hours for that test and my back and right shoulder were killing me. Walked out after that into the lobby and it was light out. When I went in it was dark still. Everyone was looking at me because of all the gauss pads taped to me. The last test was a EKG guess it had nod no issues.
All of this because of my MS and me wanting a port so I don't get stuck so much. Best part I got to sleep the rest of the day.

Well my back and legs have bothered me for probably the past week. Today it just got worst as the day went on. By the time I got home it was rough. I took the dog (Sadie) out for a walk, by the time we were done I was bear moving so walking it off doesn't work, trust me.

Well yesterday went to my endocrinologist Elizabeth Lawler.
I was kind of worried because it is after the holidays. She said I had lost 4 more pounds and my numbers 7.6 was right on track. My next appointment is in May. I have set a goal of more weight loss and drop my number to 7.0 A1C.
Started walking again. I will win this battle.
It is a two sided battle on one side MS and the other side Diabetes. Losing weight will help both.

Hmm, could it be or not. There are so many drugs that control or lessen episodes of MS. The last in line and my drug of choice is a black box or black label drug. In other words it is drug that either kills you or can cause major brain damage. Until recently it was said that the average time on this drug is two years but as time has gone on people are taking it longer and longer. In my case it's been 8 months. Can I tell a difference, well I am walking and I have a degree of lesser pain. When I was first diagnosed I was becoming paralyzed. Numbness up to my chest. Very scary, I really don't want to go through that again.
A few years a go the was a doctor in Europe that said he found a way to cure for MS. It involved snipping nerves. Sorry that isn't happening. Apparently other thought the same way. You don't hear of that anymore.
Now England has done studies with stem cells. It stands to reason if the cell can regenerate newer cleaner cells why can't they create new nerve cells with new protective coating. Back up would we need new nerve cells? Well MS deals with your own immune system attacking health nerve cells destroying the protective coating.
Okay there are 6 major types of MS . Look them up nasty stuff. The rarest and nastiest is a relapsing progressive type. In other words it gets worst as time goes on and there is no recovery or dormant time.
It would be truly awesome to have a new weapon to fight with and just maybe a safer one. Only time will tell.

Well it was infusion day again. After being stuck four times to get a vein so they can shoot poison into me the long wait started. It is interesting watching people in there. No conversation is ever private.and everyone has something to say about it. The people that come in are a trip in themselves. They are low income to rich, rough and tough to quiet and meek.
I did' nt really realize how many different infusions there really were. Some last for minutes, others for hours. Mine is an hour. It is a black box drug, meaning it can kill you. Tysabri what a name and that's the easy name. It's for controlling spells or episodes as they call them. Guess it is working, I can still walk with little touble.

Better late then never. The Liberty Bowl was awesome. Arkansas won big time. 45 to 28 sweet. It was cramped in the stands but would not have missed it. FEDEX flew a plane above the stadium and they waved at the crowd. Alex Collins and company did not disappoint. One downer was watching two older gentlemen having trouble with walking. Is that what I have to look forward to. I hope not. Bryn surprised us by doing everything Diane wanted done. Way to go Bryn👍.

Well here it is bowl season again. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State were bust again. It seems like nearly every game have blow outs.
We traveled 4 hours to Memphis to watch Arkansas and Kansas State play I pray Arkansas leaves their high school team behind this week. I would really like to see them win.
